Old Mill Canoe Rental is a small, locally owned and operated business on the Blue River in Fredericksburg, Indiana. We are the original canoe livery on the Blue River and have been in operation for over 50 years.


We provide a quieter, less crowded atmosphere on the river with more opportunity for peace, natural scenic beauty, and wildlife encounters all season long.


Our customers are treated like old friends when they visit us because we (Matt and Angie) take the time to personally interact with everyone that we put on the river. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, affordable rates, cleanliness of our 12 mile stretch of the Blue River, and maintaining an age old tradition of making memories in the great outdoors.

The ideal water level for kayaking and/or canoeing is between 3.8'-4.2' for optimal flow.


Old Mill Canoe Rental will not allow any person to launch or rent a canoe or kayak on a day where the river is expected to rise over 5'5" in depth, as this is deemed unsafe.

Take I-64 West from Louisville, 3 miles on I-64 take Greenville, Paoli, Hwy 150 exit. Stay on 150---
20 miles to Fredericksburg.
Approximately 35 minutes.

From Bloomington & Indianapolis, IN
Take Hwy 37 South to Paoli, from Paoli take Hwy 150 East to Fredericksburg.
Bloomington--Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. Indianapolis--Approximately 2 hours 10 minutes.

From Evansville, IN
Take I-64 East to Exit 92, Left on State Rd 66 towards Marengo, Right on Hwy 64 towards Milltown,
Left on State Rd 66 at caution light, Right on Hwy 150,
3 miles to Fredericksburg.
Approximately 1 hour and 49 minutes.
