This event features the very rare running of both the carding machines. The carding machines are dated to 1816 and considered the oldest in the country...only 5 are left to our knowledge & our 2 are the mills originals! The carding machines were restored in 2007-2008 at the Lovett Mill in Tennessee. Many sheep to Shaw demonstrations...sheep shearing, spinning classes, felting classes, dyeing classes, weaving, quilting, hand carding, crochet and knitting.

Washington County Sheep Producers will be serving food.

‍Beck's Mill Artist Series 2024 - May 19th

Artist Topic - The Waterfall

Join Beck's Mill this season for a blend of artistic activities as you learn the history and myths of Beck's Mill. Monthly from April to October, we'll explore a new site while expressing our hidden talents through creative writing, sketching, painting, music, collage and more. Learn about the history of the Mill, the science of the water source, the botany from natives to Essie's imports, as well as the culture and myths surrounding our local treasure.

Cost is $15 per session, or $75 for the season. (All proceeds benefit the mill, minus the supplies. Dusty does this strictly as a volunteer of the historic Beck’s Mill.)

Instructor/Beck’s Mill Resident Artist
