H‍istoric Beck's Mill Opening Day - April 5th |

Historic Beck's Mill will open for the season on Saturday April 5th. The mill will be open on Saturday’s from 11:00am - 4:00pm & Sunday’s from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. The last guided tour of the day begins at 3:15pm both days. The admission fee for adults is $5.00 and children age 16 and under are free with a paid adult admission.

‍Racing Opens at Salem Speedway - April 6th |
|
‍The Salem Speedway season will open on Sunday, April 6th with action on the big track from the Diesel Boys GAS Series, Salem Super Cars and Mike’s Mufflers & Brakes Crown Vic Big Track Series, and racing on the short track that day from the Crown Vic Short Track Series and Scrappers. There will be an open practice on Saturday, April 5th.

‍Local car enthusiasts will have their cars and trucks on display on the Salem square beginning at 5:00pm. Visit the historic Salem Square for dinner and enjoy the classic cars and trucks, hot rods and more.

Good Earth Master Gardeners Tulip Walk - April 12th |

This year we will have a central location at the old TurtleFish building on the square where you can pick up your starting tulip hunt papers!

Last year, we offered speakers at various locations throughout the day - this year we will also still be having speakers, but all will be held at the 52 Public Square building from 10:00am - 1:00pm.

Speakers include, but are not limited to, Steve Churchman from Old Mill Creek Nursery, Caitlin Hall from Scott County Master Gardeners, R&K Nursery, and more!

We will end our speakers with a Q&A session from your very own Good Earth Master Gardeners!

‍Spring Wildflower Hike/Chicken Barbecue at Beck's Mill - April 12th |

Beck's Mill Wildflower Hike begins at 10:00am, the wildflower hike is $10.00 and requires a reservation by calling and leaving a message at 812-883-5147. Hike will be led by DNR naturalist, Jeremy Beavin.

Chicken Barbecue begins at 11:00am. Meal includes 2 sides for $9.00 and benefits the mill & Mt. Carmel Cemetery fund. Special thanks to grillers Louis Courtney, Jim & Trent Woodward. Sponsored by Tyson & Walmart.

‍Knobstone 50 Trail Running Race - April 19th |

‍The Knobstone 50, a point-to-point 50-mile trail running race along the Knobstone Trail from Deam Lake to Delaney Creek Park
A rugged point-to-point 50 miler along Indiana's longest footpath, the Knobstone Trail. The KT is often described as one of the most challenging trails in the state and commonly referred to as “The Little AT” due to its steep, hilly landscape, reminiscent of the Appalachian Mountains.
The course travels Northward from Deam Lake State Park to Delaney Creek Park, accumulating roughly 10,000ft of elevation gain throughout. Join us on this scenic backcountry journey of steep climbs, sweeping vistas, and beautiful forested landscapes!
